Finding old forgotten photos

Covid-19 and all it's positives. One big positive is the never ending feeling of not having to rush to be anywhere; having the time to just spend copious amounts of time going through "stuff'. I came across some totally forgotten images of a fun little mini shoot I took of my youngest last year. We are about to say goodbye to that home, where I started this adventure called motherhood. To come across these priceless photos of my little one Lexi, in the bath where she was actually born, is absolutely priceless. I am going to treasure (and print) these images and keep them safe on my coffee table. As soon as this self isolation (I really hope I don't have to hear those two words together ever again soon) is over and my coveted printing house in the US can open back up :)

I hope you are all keeping safe and entertained and are keeping those spirits up

PS - Mother's Day is coming up, what better time to update your families photos just in time for celebrating Mom. Contact me today to set up a session outdoors or just on your front porch, to capture some of those details your Mom won't want to forget. Trust me, the gift of photos is the best gift you can give your Mom! I am currently offering mini porch sessions that are $75, short & sweet capturing your family in a quick and fun way just as you are giving you 5 images (you can always purchase more if you choose) or I am happy to do a full family session for the price of my Short & Sweet sessions to make photos more attainable in these financially unknown times. Outdoors, in Fish Creek (my new backyard!) now that the weather is warming up. All sessions with be photographed no less than 4 feet away, keeping our distance to make sure everyone is abiding by the social distancing rules right now.

Eric & Joelle's 1 year cake smash!

SWEETNESS!! These two are the cutest. Together they make a hilarious + sweet cousin duo. Eric + Joelle are full of character and have the best expressions. They are blessed with some of the coolest parents, one being my good friend. How cool is it to first be born so close together, love hanging with each other and to have a double cake smash!!
I love that this passion allows me to share in some of the most special moments among the families I get to work with. Thank you for entrusting this special milestone with me Christine + Nick and Jolie + Jason!

Rainbow ballon arch: created by the mommas
Cakes for the smash: @icedinnovationcakes
Cake stands: my own (bought from Indigo a few years ago)

Such a sweet set up. That balloon arch was insanely awesome! I need to learn how to make those. SO cool!

Such a handsome ham!

We set up outside on the deck. It's tricky mid day in the summer when the sun is usually at its brightest but with a little creative thinking we managed to make a small pocket of shade to shoot in.

A helicopter kept flying over head which was a great distraction for these two little busy bodies.

I just adore the little suspenders with shorts!

And Joelle's sweet little headband to match Eric's little bow tie. Girl knows what she wants!

The cakes from @icedinnovationcakes were gorgeous (and yummy!) Just the right amount of colour but still subtle enough to not take away from the colourful balloons.

Whats cuter than chubby baby hands (my fav if you didn't know)? Icing covered chubby baby hands!

"Maybe I should test yours" - Joelle

"what the heck do I do with this thing mom?" - Eric

One day they'll understand that cake is delicious!!

Mmm, maybe this stick will be delicious? - Joelle

hey mom, I was eating that. - Joelle

A little help from mom.

WHY did we just squish that mom?

Time for a little help to really get in and smash that cake! Kids these days, don't they know cakes are meant to be smashed? :)

Chunky toes dipped in icing!

Milly (my daughter and helper) stealing some cake.

Joelle, you have something on your face.

Now where are you off too, we have cake to eat girl! - Eric

Ok mom, I'm done.

Wake Up and Be AWESOME!

The after math lol!

BLOOPERS!!
There's a lot that goes on during a cake smash session. Especially with TWO babies. Here are a few of the behind the scenes bloopers! The whole family was involved in this shoot, even Grandpa!

They really just wanted that barn toy.

Little miss Joelle was so curious constantly wanting to check everything BUT the cakes out :)

My helper, Miss Milly. Testing out the lighting before the babies come out.

Happy 1st Birthday to you and Joelle Eric!!

Love Auntie Meg
